Thanks for your views, on the 720P versus 1080P.

I am stuck with a 26 inch (or 27) diagonal TV size limit (space), and presently have a Samsung. I DO NOT HAVE CABLE. I use an indoor antenna. Some channels broadcast in 1080 i. is this any advantage over 720 p.

Biggest gripe, and reason I won't buy so much as a used toothpick from SAMSUNG ever again. You can't tune their TVs to any channel you want; only the ones the TV set says you can watch. So how the hell are you supposed to position your antenna properly, if you can't even tune in the channel.

Why don't digital TVs have an "ALL CHANNELS ON" position, or at least offer manual setting of ANY CHANNEL(S).

My Panasonic DVD/VHS player has a built in tuner that CAN program in ANY CHANNEL. So I am going to use that tuner to pick up channels; and feed that to my dumb stupid brain dead SAMSUNG TV.

All the TVS and computer monitors in the house are SAMSUNG. I'd like to trash the lot of them; even the 26 inch 1920 x 1200 monitor, that has a tuner but won't let you tune the stations.

I got this new Bravia for Christmas, so for my next present to myself I upgrade my dish network account to get an HD receiver to go along with the tv. I haven't used the Ethernet on the TV yet, waiting to check that out. But man The difference in the picture is amazing. to go from SD picture to DISH HD, 200 HD channels on the top 250 is just like the difference between night and day.

Great article. I just purchased a new TV and was totally sold on LED technology due to the fact this is 46" unit (Sony EX710) uses only 85w in high energy saving mode (image still looks perfect to me) and vs CCFL's: a longer lifespan, no mercury, instantly bright light upon operation (vs CCFL's that need to warm up). I paid 22% more for the LED vs the CCFL, but with electricity now so expensive in my country, it'll pay itself back. Plus as someone who always puts the enrivonment first, I feel really good about the choice I made. :)

@Bryan Knowles: Thank you. I have modified the paragraph to be more accurate. Still it does not support DLNA (video playback from networked media servers or hard drives).
